He didn’t wave a single yellow card in the first of those two games but Robbie Blake, Arthur Gnohere and Dean West all saw yellow at Preston along with Richard Cresswell.
There was so much to talk about in that match the referee was hardly noticed although he was at times somewhat lenient with the home side.
Overall this season he is averaging just over three yellow cards per game with 73 in 23 games along with 7 red cards. He has been pretty even with his yellow cards with 35 to home players and 38 to away players although all but two of his red cards have gone the way of the away team.
The Burnley v Bradford game is the only time he has kept his cards in his pocket this season.
He will be assisted this week by Gary Brittain (South Yorkshire) and Ceri Richards (Carmarthenshire).
