He moved on at the end of that season and despite having a short spell at Swansea he didn't play in the Football League and eventually signed for Southport, a club where he had previously enjoyed a loan spell.
When former Claret Paul Cook arrived at Southport he signed for Stalybridge and has most recently been playing for Burscough. However that particular Blue Square North club has hit a financial crisis, brought on by illness to chairman Chris Lloyd, and last week their manager Liam Watson resigned to assist that club financially.
Davis had played for Watson at Southport and he'll do so again. Watson has returned there as boss and this week in one fell swoop signed no fewer than eleven Burscough players. Davis was one of them and he goes there for his third spell.
Now 25, Davis will make his latest Southport debut on 9th August when they kick off their season with an away Blue Square North game at Gainsborough Trinity.
