Davis, Hughes and Roberts go

Davis was placed in acting charge when Coyle hopped it over to Horwich on Thursday but this time his spell as caretaker didn't take in a game with the Stoke game called off. That was his cue to make his move and his departure was confirmed today along with that of Phil Hughes.

Burnley confirmed that both were expected to team up with Coyle at the Reebok as will both Sandy Stewart and John Henry.

It was also confirmed that chief scout Cliff Roberts had left the club but without any suggestion that he'd be following the same route towards the M61.

It was no surprise, the Davis departure was strongly rumoured to be happening from the beginning of last week as was that of Hughes. It is believed that pro-zone analyst John Brannan could be the next to go whilst there have also been suggestions that Andy Mitchell and the medical team could also follow.

As for the television in the manager's office and the office door, there has been no indication as yet whether they will go to Bolton. Maybe we'll find out in an Alan Nixon exclusive after the two bit hack has run out of ideas on promoting buddy Coyle.
