Danny Ings Tribunal

The Danny Ings Tribunal finally appears to be near resolution.

At last night's Clarets Fans Forum, an event covered live by Radio Lancashire and held at Turf Moor. It was claimed the compensation figure for Danny Ings is set to be "the biggest in history" according to Burnley chief executive David Baldwin.

Dave Baldwin explained to a packed forum that a tribunal committee is expected to meet towards the end of April, 2016.

The tribunal will finally settle on the sum that  Liverpool Football Club must pay the Clarets following the Danny Ings' switch to Anfield in the summer of 2015.

The striker later capped by England manager Roy Hodgson  was at that time out of contract but because he was aged under 24, Burnley are entitled to a fee.

The fee is expected to exceed by some distance the record £6.5m Chelsea paid Manchester City for Daniel Sturridge in January 2010.

Dave Baldwin added, "In terms of the actual tribunal date, the expectation is that it will be the end of April 2016".

"It could have been any time during March or April but availability of legal counsel for both parties has dictated the later date. They are both working on other cases and they are not just dealing specifically with cases of sports law".

It is understood the lawyer representing Burnley Football Club is currently involved in a different High Court hearing and is therefore presently unavailable.

A relatively sanguine Dave Baldwin added, "In terms of the timeline the reason it is different to the ordinary is this tribunal claim will be the biggest in history."

When Liverpool Football Club finally stump up the cash, perhaps the Clarets can go out and buy another Andre Gray?

Wouldn't that be something? (TEC).
