Danns in Turf Moor link

This time it is Neil Danns a 20 year-old midfielder who plays for our neighbours down the M65 Blackburn Rovers.

It is fair to say that I know little about Danns, keeping a close eye on our local rivals is not high on my priority list but Danns captained the Blackburn youth team that reached the final of the FA Youth Cup to years ago before losing out to Arsenal.

A regular in their Premiership reserve team he did finally make a breakthrough into the first team this season making his debut against CSKA Sofia in European competition, coming on as a sub for a Premiership debut just three days later.

This week I spoke to a Burnley supporter, someone who holds down a responsible position in one of our local schools, who was quick to tell me that we should never sign anyone who has worn a Blackburn shirt admitting their distaste at the likes of Keith Newton, Kevin Hird, Chris Pearce, Paul Comstive and Lenny Johnrose ever having played for us.

I happen to believe that Stan will be the person responsible for deciding who our new players will be and Stan will decide which clubs he does and doesn’t do business with. There is no confirmation that Danns is one of the players he is looking at but if it proves to be then surely there should be absolutely no problem with it.
