Dad Oliver for Wolves game

Last updated : 13 February 2009 By Tony Scholes
This will be dad's first visit to the Turf since the last game of 2007 when we were beaten 1-0 by Bristol City although he has refereed us away from home this season in the opening day away game against Sheffield Wednesday.

Unlike his son he isn't a referee who appears to seek the limelight and he is less likely to be noticed than Michael who now looks to be grabbing the headlines on a weekly basis with some bizarre decisions.

Clive's problem is his nit picking and too often he's not willing the let the game flow. He'll pull the game back if a free kick is taken a couple of feet away from where it should be taken, that sort of thing.

But he's reasonable when it comes to the cards although this season he's up to just over two and a half yellow cards per game. There have been 57 of them in 22 games with five red cards as well including one in his last game when he sent off Oldham goalkeeper Greg Fleming last week in their 0-0 draw at Leicester.

Of those yellow cards, 19 have gone to home team players and 38 to away team players whilst all five red cards have been given to away team players.

He will be assisted by Paul Barnes (Cambridgeshire) and Gary Beswick (Co Durham) whilst the fourth official will be Paul Kettlewell (Lancashire).
