Curtis Woods back with Ballymena

Curtis, a full back from Carrickfergus, has just spent the last two seasons with the Clarets' youth squad but failed to win a professional deal and returned to his native Northern Ireland. He'd been snapped up by Burnley as a 16-year-old having played for Ballymena, helping them to win the Harry Cavan Cup, the youth competition named after the former IFA President and former Fifa Vice-President.

He's spent the summer on trial with Ballymena and after Saturday's friendly victory over Ballymoney United he signed a one year amateur deal.

Ballymena manager Roy Walker, now there's a good answer and it is right, was delighted to get Curtis signed up and he could go straight into the squad for their opening Carling Premiership fixture this coming Saturday away to Lisburn Distillery.
