Crewe still want Jones

Alex' boss Steve Holland admitted that he wanted him, that we'd given them permission to speak to him and it would happen after our trip to Coventry. In the following week, whilst Owen Coyle confirmed he was part of his plans, Holland revealed that an injury had prevented the move from taking place.

Holland has this week said he wants to strengthen his squad when the loan window opens. He said on local radio: "I aim to bring in at least three players, and Steve Jones is someone we all know about."

There has been no official comment from either club, but it does look as though Crewe may have been given more encouragement and Steve Jones could still make the move back to the club for whom he played over 170 games before signing for the Clarets in the summer of 2006.
