Crewe back on the Jones trail

Steve Jones
The suggestions in January were that it all looked to be a done deal but then Jones came on as a substitute at Coventry and picked up an injury which ruled him out until last week. Then he was back in training and played a full ninety minutes for the reserves in the win over Chester at Accrington last Wednesday.

That's alerted Holland who has said: "I'll be talking to Burnley about Steve." Once again Holland suggests that the player has said he would like to return to Crewe.

Much will depend on whether Owen Coyle thinks he has a part to play in the last six games, but the fact remains that Jones has started just the one league game this season. That was the home win over Plymouth in January when he was substituted early in the second half.

With strong suggestions that there could be one or two loan players coming in this week it would be no surprise to see Jones finally make that return to Crewe.
