Crainey has release clause

There's current speculation that Norwich will sign Wes Hoolahan whilst a number of clubs, including the Clarets, are believed to be interested in Latvian international defender Kaspars Gorkss. Both players can leave Blackpool should a club offer the amount required to trigger the release clause, said to be £200,000 and £250,000 respectively.

Now news has surfaced that left back Crainey is also able to leave should anyone offer £250,000 for him. The suggestion is that when they signed Crainey a year ago it was for one year with an option for a second year, and that option could be taken up should Crainey player an agreed number of games. It was put in place due to injuries having curtailed his Leeds career.

In return Crainey was given a release clause in his contract and that is thought to be £250,000 which is the figure that was quoted when the Clarets were linked with him yesterday. The report said we were on the verge of signing him but as yet there has been no comment from either club.
