Coyne some way from fitness

It was just a year ago last weekend that we last saw Danny in competitive action, when he suffered his cruciate ligament injury against Brighton, and it could be a while before we see him again. “Danny is quite a way away from a return at the moment,” said manager Steve Cotterill. “The other day he couldn't do the running because of his bad calf.

“He's been back in training for a while but you end up with these niggles. You get over the cruciate before getting the muscle strength back and this causes all the muscle strains and aches and pains. He's pulled out of training and until he can do everything with no problems, he has obviously still got a problem.”

Danny has had some action, he got onto the pitch in Italy, although that was briefly and he was guaranteed to see little action in both games. More recently he's played in a couple of behind closed doors games and just this Monday played in the game against Blackburn ad their Brockhall training ground that ended in a 2-0 defeat.

It means more time working with the physio, and to the gym work, with another break from full training and another delay before we see him again in action.
