Coyne on the mend

He became the second Burnley player this season to sustain a cruciate ligament injury and was operated on during last month. He’s now been given the go ahead to start his rehabilitation although it will be some time before he’s back doing any sort of goalkeeper training.

Having been out for a long part of last season this is the second serious injury he’s suffered since joining the Clarets, yet in previous years with Tranmere and Grimsby he hardly missed a game. The current injury happened early in the home draw against Brighton in September when he collapsed on the ground after going to claim a ball into the box.

It will be tedious work for sometime for Danny but everything has gone well and that should mean we will be back to two fully fit goalkeepers come the beginning of next season – and I think John Spicer, for one, will be very relieved.
