John McGreal - has trained hard
We've all been hoping to see goalkeeper Danny Coyne back in some match action this season, but until now he's remained on the sidelines. Just a few weeks ago the manager suggested that a spell out on loan could be on the cards but this week, after the player himself suggested it, the news is very different.

“There have been no developments with Danny going out on loan and now things might change,” Cotterill said. “We are going into games thick and fast and we may revise things. The time was right then [a month or so ago] for him to go out on loan, but it may not be right now.”

Danny has been on the bench for the last three games, and it looks now as though he's very much in the manager's thoughts coming up to the hectic Christmas schedule, as is central defender John McGreal who is on his way back from a medial ligament injury.

“John is coming along well, but medial ligaments can be a problem in that John could end up having problems with it for the rest of the season until it gets the rest to settle it down. He will be back playing but it is just a case of whether he tweaks it and if so it becomes a real pain.

“He's trained hard since he's been injured and we are hopeful that when he's available again he doesn't do any further damage to it.”

Michael Duff reached a century of league appearances for Burnley last week at Cardiff, that takes his total number of appearances for the club to 111. This week it is Frank Sinclair who will reach a similar milestone. If selected on Saturday he will be making is 90th league appearance but with cup ties it will be 100 in total for him.

Steve Cotterill said of his former captain: “You need players who put themselves up for selection ever y week with the size of our squad. That is what Frank has done since he first arrived at Burnley. He has been a great signing and has always done that. I have no worries about him and at 34 I think he does fantastic.”
