Coyne in demand

Norwich's interest surfaced some time ago and their manager Peter Grant has made no secret of the fact that he's looking for a new goalkeeper ahead of the 2007/08 season. They have, according to Coyne's agent Gary Mellor, shown some interest this week along with Wednesday and Ipswich.

The link with Cardiff came when they released Neil Alexander and Wednesday, like Norwich, are a club who have used a series of loan goalkeepers during the season. Brian Laws' first signing was veteran keeper Mark Crossley and more recently Iain Turner was in goal whilst on loan from Everton.

The link with Ipswich doesn't look quite so good. Their boss Jim Magilton has denied any interest saying: "Danny Coyne has never been on the radar." Magilton has also been linked with a move for another of our released players, his former team mate John McGreal. His interest in him last year was well publicised but he said this week: "We were interested in John a year ago but now, especially with Fabian Wilnis doing so well at centre-half, I feel we have that area covered."
