Coyle keen on Naismith

The 22-year-old Naismith hasn't figured in the first team at Ibrox this season partly due to injury, after playing over 30 games last season following his move from Kilmarnock.

Naismith, who can also play wide or in midfield has scored five goals in those games, but was a regular scorer with Kilmarnock for whom he netted 29 times in just over 97 games.

Naismith has also made one appearance for Scotland, coming on as a substitute for Kris Boyd with eight minutes remaining of their European Qualifier away to the Faroe Islands in June 2007 just before his move to Rangers.

Rangers fought off a lot of competition from Premier League clubs in England to get their man, but he's a Rangers fan. Even so it almost didn't happen and the deal was only struck late on 31st August.
