Coyle keen on his mate's Cousin

Gabonese international Cousin was signed by Coyle's friend and former team mate Phil Brown for Hull just a year ago, moving from Rangers in a £1.5 million deal and signing a three year contract.

The now 32-year-old had been in Glasgow just a year after his move from France where he had spent most of his life and previously played all his football for Martigues, Niort, Le Mans and Lens.

Cousin almost signed for Roy Hodgson at Fulham when a £3 million offer triggered a release clause just a few months into his Rangers career, but that deal fell through when FIFA refused to allow the deal to go through after the London club had sought special dispensation.

When a move to Craven Cottage fell through it was Hull who brought him to England and in the 2008/09 season he scored four Premier League goals in 27 appearances. The first of those goals was the winner against Arsenal at the Emirates and he also scored in the return game as well as against both Manchester clubs, the one against United coming at Old Trafford.

He's represented his country on 37 occasions, scoring 28 goals. He made his Gabon debut in 2000 and was appointed captain in 2006.

He's played once this season, in the 5-1 home defeat against Spurs, with Coyle now looking to set up a season long loan.
