Coyle in landslide win

There were just three candidates in Stan Ternent, Steve Cotterill and Owen Coyle. Stan won us promotion in the first of the ten seasons under review and then took us close to the play offs in the following two seasons.

He then suffered over the next two years as the club struggled financially before leaving Turf Moor in the summer of 2004.

It was the same for Steve Cotterill who built the squad back up and signed many of those who were in the side that triumphed at Wembley in May before ending his association with the Clarets in November 2007.

But there was only ever going to be one winner, current boss Owen Coyle. He's been in charge of the Clarets since replacing Cotterill and, as Graham Alexander said when heaping praise on his manager after the Wembley triumph, has taken a side of mid- table also rans to promotion in his first full season.

I don't think it can come as any surprise at all that he has quite rightly pulled in such a big share of the vote, indeed he won no less than 90.3% of that vote.

Stan Ternent with 8% and Steve Cotterill just under 2% were never in the running.
