Coyle again linked with Jacobsen

Owen Coyle - linked with a move for Lars Jacobsen
This one is, without doubt, a far more realistic suggestion even though Jacobsen doesn't fit the profile laid out last week by the Clarets' operational director Brendan Flood who said we would be targeting British and Scandinavian players and of a certain age.

Dane Jacobsen definitely fits the nationality bill but at 29 is not within the age bracket suggested.

Jacobsen started his career with Odense and has since played for Hamburg, FC Copenhagen and Nuremburg and moved to England last summer on a free transfer to Everton by which time he had established himself as the regular right back in the Danish national side.

Unfortunately a shoulder injury kept him out for the majority of the season before he finally made his Toffees debut in March at Portsmouth.

He made a total of six appearances for Everton, five of them in the Premier League and the last one as a half time substitute in the recent FA Cup Final, replacing Tony Hibbert.

Jacobsen ended his one year deal with Everton and the suggestion is that Owen Coyle is now keen to keep him in the Premier League with Burnley.
