Elsewhere it would be no surprise to see the team remain unchanged despite the defeat although much will depend on formation. Ian Moore will be looking for a recall but I suspect he might once again find himself on the bench as the Clarets stick with the 4-5-1 formation that served them so well just over a week ago at Stoke.
That being the case we will have three home debutants in the side in Andy Todd, Gareth Farrelly and Delroy Facey giving the home fans their first chance to see the three new loan men who have all played in the last two games.
The expected line up is: Brian Jensen, Dean West, Andy Todd, David May, Mo Camara, Luke Chadwick, Robbie Blake, Tony Grant, Gareth Farrelly, Graham Branch, Delroy Facey. Subs: Lee Roche, Richard Chaplow, Paul Weller, Alan Moore, Ian Moore.
Should West fail to be fit then Roche would almost certainly play at right back with Matt O’Neill taking the extra place on the bench.
Forest will have to make the one change with David Johnson having broken his tibula on Saturday. That will mean one ex-Claret replacing another with Gareth Taylor expected to get his first start in Forest colours following his recent half million pound move from Burnley.
One player not expected to start is loanee Michael Stewart who had to settle for a place on the bench on Saturday following rumours that he is unsettled at the City Ground. There is nothing certain but there are suggestions in Nottingham that Stewart could well soon be on his way back to Old Trafford.
Forest have let one of their players go out on loan yesterday with Chris Doig moving to Northampton. He hasn’t been involved with the first team though in the league this season.
The Forest starting eleven is expected to be: Darren Ward, Matthieu Louis-Jean, Michael Dawson, John Thompson, Wes Morgan, Danny Sonner, Stephen McPhail, Gareth Williams, Andy Reid, Gareth Taylor, Marlon Harewood.
