Cork's day at Barnsley

Jack Cork
Cork, who was at fault with Barnsley's goal, played a major part in the victory and was the winner of both the man of the match vote and the player ratings.

He polled 35.6% of the vote for the man of the match and that was comfortably ahead of youngster John Guidetti who took second place on his first start with a 25.7% share. Back to form central defender Andre Bikey came third with 12.6% of the vote.

It was the same three who took the points from the player ratings with Cork again coming out on top with a rating of 8.10 out of 10. It was Bikey this time in second place with a rating of 7.75 and Guidetti finished third with a rating of 7.45 out of 10.

Cork collects another six points towards the Clarets Mad Player of the Year with Bikey and Guidetti both getting three points. That leaves Cork with a massive fifteen point lead at the top ahead of Chris Eagles whilst Andre Bikey has closed the gap between second and third to eight points.

The revised schedule for the man of the match voting, because of the managerial change, will see both the Scunthorpe and Sheffield United games reduced to two days. The Scunthorpe man of the match vote will run throughout Saturday and Sunday. It will be followed immediately by the Sheffield United vote which will be available on Monday and Tuesday.

That takes us back to the original schedule with the Reading game running from Wednesday to Friday and the Port Vale vote starting on the evening after the game.
