Cork is top man in Donny draw

Jack Cork
He won both, and he won both convincingly after heading home the equaliser in the second half; his first goal of the season. It was Cork's second goal for Burnley having scored our second in the 4-2 win over Spurs on the last day of last season.

HIs performance earned him 54.9% of the vote last week and, having received over half the vote, he was the only play to take more than a 10% share. Central defender Michael Duff came second with 9.7% and goalkeeper Lee Grant secured third place with 8.8% of the vote.

It was Cork again in the player ratings and again by some distance. His rating of 7.39 out of 10 was more than a point higher than any other player. Cork now has the highest average rating too this season, just ahead of Clarke Carlisle. Two players, Grant and Tyrone Mears took joint second place with ratings of 6.27 out of 10.

Cork, therefore, wins the maximum six points towards the Clarets Mad Player of the Year. Grant wins three points with both Mears and Duff getting two points.

That's made things very interesting at the top of the table with Cork now having gone within one point of one time runaway leader Chris Eagles. The pair are now some distance ahead of the season's early leader Andre Bikey who has dropped to third place.

Voting is currently in progress for the man of the match from Saturday's game against Watford and that will run until the end of today.
