Cork comes out top at Cardiff

Chris Eagles was down in ninth place in the player ratings but came out on top in the man of the match poll with 32.0% of the vote. That was a good distance ahead of Cork, who alongside Dean Marney was for me our most impressive player, who won a 20.4% share. Michael Duff took third place with 19.2% of the vote.

Cork, however, was number one in the player ratings with a rating of 8.50 out of 10 and that was ahead of Duff who, with a rating of 8.00, came second. Midfielder Marney took third place with a rating of 7.90 out of 10.

Therefore, Cork wins five points towards the Clarets Mad Player of the Year. There are three points each for Duff and Eagles whilst Marney wins one point. That means the chase for the Clarets Mad Player of the Year continues with Cork stretching further ahead of Eagles again in what has become a two horse race.

The lead is back up to sixteen points and with Eagles now having a 36 point lead over third place Andre Bikey there seems very little likelihood of any other player coming through to challenge the top two.

The next vote will be the man of the match vote for the West Ham game and that will start within an hour of the final whistle on Monday.
