Contract extension news with an exclusive

When Cennamo came in it was for a six month period with differing reports that it was a short term contract or a loan deal. It was clearly a loan deal with Stan today saying that Luigi is now a Burnley player.

The reason for this is that Cennamo has now signed a contract with the Clarets but only until the end of the season. He's been sub in every first team game this season and the nearest he has been to his debut was at Deepdale. With Nik looking as though he would get a red card for handling the ball INSIDE his penalty box Lui was already getting himself ready to come on.

He has been a regular in the reserves and has at times been erratic. He has turned in some excellent performances but recently had a nightmare 90 minutes in a home game coupled with a red card that he received at Bramall Lane.

It looks as though Stan hasn't fully made up his mind yet and the German born, Italian/Greek keeper has the rest of this season to convince him that he is worth a longer deal.

We have received a number of queries regarding Tony Ellis and the fact that he signed a three month deal in July and nothing has been heard since. If my memory serves me correctly then the deal was a three month rolling contract and that would explain why nothing has been announced since.

One player who has signed an extended deal at Burnley is Steve Davis and that should remove all the speculation from the stands and inside Turf Moor. Stan Ternent exclusively told Clarets Mad that Steve has signed until the end of the 2004/05 season, another three years after this season.
