Under-21 call for Luke Conlan

Still with Northern Ireland and left-back Luke Conlan has received another call up for the under-21s. He's a regular in the squad now having first been called up at the end of last season and making a debut against Serbia in October.

He's now been included in the squad for their UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifier against Italy which will be played at Mourneview Park in Lurgan on Wednesday 5th March with a 5 p.m. kick off.

On the same day Cameron Howieson will be hoping to win his seventh full international cap after receiving a call up for New Zealand for a friendly against World Cup bound Japan. He's been included in a squad of 18 for the game to be played in the National Olympic Stadium in Tokyo. Two other English based players are in the squad; they are midfielder Tim Payne (Blackburn) and striker Chris Wood (Leicester).

Finally, young under-16 striker Khius Metz, having previously been involved in training camps, has received a first call up for the Republic of Ireland at under-17 level. They have two Dublin friendlies against Austria on 4th and 6th March.

Khius will hope to be involved and will then be looking towards the UEFA European Under-17 Championships Elite Round in late March when the Republic of Ireland will face games against Serbia, Germany and Georgia.

Congratulations to Luke, Cameron and Khius on their call ups and what a feather in the cap for Stuart Harvey, Burnley's new Academy Head of Talent ID and Recruitment. He was previously our Northern Ireland representative and is responsible for all of Conlan, Dummigan and Mitchell being at Turf Moor.
