Cole to be offered a deal?

Cole, coming to the end of his one year deal with RK Sunderland, had intimated that he would hang up his boots at the end of this season, but has more recently suggested that he might just carry on playing after scoring six times for the Clarets since arriving on loan in January.

Cole scored his first Burnley goal in the 1-1 home draw against Colchester and followed that up with a hat trick in the sensational 4-2 win against Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road.

More recently he scored in the last two home games of the season against Sheffield United and Cardiff to reach the six goals.

He missed Sunday's game at Palace because of the injury sustained in the game against Cardiff last week (and I think enough has been written about that) but could still be in the Burnley line up come 9th August when the 2008/09 season gets underway.

Suggestions today are that Owen Coyle will offer him a one year deal to extend his career and extend his stay at Turf Moor until the end of the season. With other players due to speak to Coyle today we will soon hear who the manager has decided to offer terms to.
