Cole set for Forest

Cole ended the season on loan with the Clarets from RK Sunderland and netted six goals for the Clarets including that sensational hat trick at Loftus Road against QPR. It is that, and the amazing end to his Burnley career that I'll remember most.

In his last match he chased Darren Purse up the tunnel after the Cardiff captain had been sent off for a horror challenge on him that only Dave Jones and the FAW thought to defend.

He returned to Wearside and was released by the Mackems but he turned down the opportunity of a return to Turf Moor and it looked for a while as if he might retire from the game.

There was speculation that he would sign for Forest and he is from Nottingham. Today that speculation has become fact and he's now set to return home and play for them. He will sign a one year contract at the City Ground next week and becomes Forest's fourth summer signing.
