2

6 GOAL Darren Barnard curls a free kick around the wall and in off the inside of the post. Barnsley 1 Burnley 0.

9 Gareth Taylor gets a header on target from a corner as the Clarets look to strike back.

15 Glen Little picks up a knock but looks OK to continue. Playing with a strong wind Burnley are putting the Tykes under some pressure after falling behind to the early goal.

17 The Clarets continue to pile on the pressure and Miller is forced into a desperate save as Chettle slices a cross towards his own goal.

21 Beresford comes well for a cross and launches it immediately down field where Gareth Taylor gets on the end of it forcing Miller into a save.

24 Ian Moore chases a lost cause and the ball is squared for Kevin Ball who gets in a header.

30 Kevin Ball wins a challenge in midfield and receives a kick in the face for his troubles. No booking for the Barnsley player and Briscoe's free kick sails over the cross bar.

32 Taylor breaks into the box and crosses for Moore but Morgan gets back to hack the ball clear over his own bar.

36 Still all Burnley but the Clarets just cannot force the ball home.

37 GOAL Following some good approach play Lee Briscoe is released into the box and crosses for Gareth Taylor to head home at the far post. Barnsley 1 Burnley 1.

44 Brilliant passing football from Burnley creates a chance for Ian Moore on the near post but Barnsley scramble it wide for another Clarets corner.

Half-Time: After falling behind to the early goal Burnley have controlled the game in the first half with Gareth Taylor's 10th headed goal of the season putting the Clarets back level at the break.

Second-Half

Alan Moore replaces Tony Grant at the start of the second-half after Grant picked up an early knock.

50 Morgan nods home from a corner for Barnsley but is penalised for pushing.

55 The play is more even in the second period as Barnsley now have the wind at their backs.

60 Gareth Taylor is pulled down in the box but referee Mr Beeby (a change from the advertised ref) said no penalty.

63 Barnsley put the Clarets under pressure as we struggle to get the ball clear but Sheron eventually fires over.

65 Mike Sheron heads wide from a free header in front of goal.

68 Darren Barnard is booked for a challenge on Glen Little. Briscoe fires the resulting free kick straight at Miller in the Barnsley goal.

70 The Clarets start to exert some pressure of their own and Ian Cox just fails to get on the end of a Briscoe corner.

73 Robbie Blake replaces Ian Moore.

80 End to end stuff as both teams have half chances with Robbie Blake impressing.

82 Brad Maylett comes on for Glen Little as the Clarets go on the attack.

84 Lee Briscoe hits in another great strike from a free kick forcing Miller into a good save which he then repeats from the rebound.

87 Brad Maylett tricks his way down the wing and crosses for Alan Moore who shoots but Miller pulls off another save.

89 Mulligan is booked for pulling back Robbie Blake.

90 Briscoe puts over another great cross but Kevin Ball can only head straight at Miller.

Full-Time Barnsley 1 Burnley 1. A great performance from the Clarets saw us come away with a point from Oakwell though we can consider ourselves to be unlucky not to have taken all 3.
