Clarke back in front

Clarke Carlisle
Carlisle had an outstanding game at the back for the Clarets, and to add to that he netted the late equaliser with an overhead kick to earn us a much deserved point. Without the goal he would still have been the most likely winner of the man of the match points.

In our voting poll he took over half the vote, claiming 55.8% which earned him the three points. That was way ahead of Robbie Blake whose 16.1% of the vote earned him two points with Andy Gray getting the last point having taken 8.9% of the vote.

In the player ratings on the message board it was the same top two. Clarke had an average of 7.92 out of 10 whilst Robbie's average of 7.23 earned him second place. Third place in the ratings went to captain Steven Caldwell who averaged 7.08.

Adding these points to the table, it sees Carlisle and Blake edging ahead and no matter how things go following the Carling Cup tie against Portsmouth they are guaranteed to keep the top two positions.

Voting for man of the match from the Portsmouth tie is now available and will be until the end of Friday, whilst the player ratings are being collected on the message board.

The current totals are;

19: Clarke Carlisle
18: Robbie Blake
12: Andy Gray & Brian Jensen
9: Kyle Lafferty
7: Steven Caldwell
6: David Unsworth
5: Alan Mahon & Chris McCann
3: Michael Duff
2: Gabor Kiraly & Wayne Thomas
1: Stephen Jordan
