Clarets youth player makes international bow

Left back Jake McEneaney is just starting his second season as an apprentice at Burnley and on Tuesday played for the Wales Under-17s against Iceland. It is the first game in a friendly tournament and the game was played in Laholm in Sweden.

Swindon's Billy Bodin and Reece Jones of Fulham scored in a 2-0 win for the Welsh that could have been more emphatic had Jake Peniket, also Fulham, not missed a late penalty.

Wales play their second game today against Norway before finishing against hosts Sweden on Saturday. The tournament is part of the planning for the UEFA qualifiers to be played in September.

It is further good news for the youth set up at Burnley to see another one of our young players pull on an international shirt. Well done Jake from us all at Clarets Mad.
