New signing Steve Jones - played the first hour against Uruguay
Michael Duff got his fourth start for his country and he was joined in that starting line up by our new signing Steve Jones in the first of a two game visit to the United States, whilst Kyle took a seat on the bench following his first call up by Lawrie Sanchez.

Jones played for the first hour before being replaced by Linfield's Peter Thompson and the big moment for Kyle came with fifteen minutes to go and in what was a double substitution. One of those changes saw him come on for his full international debut, replacing former Blackpool and West Brom player James Quinn who is now with Peterborough United.

Duff played all but the last seven minutes in a game that the Irish lost 1-0 to a goal twelve minutes before half time from Uruguay's Fabian Estoyanosswith with a strike from long range.

The three Burnley players will now move on to Chicago where Northern Ireland will play Romania on Friday at Soldier Field.

Jones and Lafferty take our number of Northern Ireland internationals to sixteen – click HERE to see a full list of Burnley internationals.
