Clarets to head for Scotland

McDiarmid Park - home of St. Johnstone

We will play three games over the border, the first of them on Saturday 19th July, followed by games on the following Monday and Wednesday. Our opponents are expected to be Queen of the South, Owen Coyle's former club St. Johnstone and Partick Thistle.

It will be the first time we've played in Scotland since 1994 when Jimmy Mullen took his newly promoted team to Falkirk for a pre-season friendly that ended 1-1 with Liam Robinson scoring the Burnley goal.

These games take our total of pre-season games to five and there could be two more, one before Scotland and one after the trip to Bradford, to complete the programme ahead of the opening day of the season on Saturday 9th August.
