Clarets sign a keeper and a striker

Both signings have Manchester United connections as Stan’s relationship with Sir Alex Ferguson seems to be working overdrive again.

The goalkeeper is American Paul Rachubka who is currently with Charlton Athletic. He was signed by the London club from Manchester United in the summer of 2002 for an initial fee of £200,000.

Coming directly from Manchester United is reserve team striker Neil Wood, a player who is still waiting for his debut at Old Trafford although he has scored his first Nationwide League goal during a loan period with Peterborough United.

There is more to follow on both signings who will both join Orr in the squad for Saturday’s trip to Wigan as we return to league action.

None of the three players signed are cup tied so it is likely that all three will be allowed to play for the Clarets in the FA Cup 5th round tie at either Telford or Millwall.
