Clarets set to play county tie

Shortly after that the Clarets were drawn against Rochdale at home in the first round and we have waited with baited breath for news of when the tie would be played.

We have now learned that our return to the competition will be this afternoon at Turf Moor although we have been informed by the club that the match will be played behind closed doors and spectators will not be admitted.

This means that Clarets Mad will not be able to cover a Burnley cup tie simply because we cannot get in to watch the game. We will however try to bring you the result, that is unless they don’t want anyone to know that either.

That being the case we will wait and see whether it is Burnley or Rochdale who play in the next round of the competition.

Neither club have publicised the match whilst the Lancashire FA’s last update on the competition was as far back as last April.
