The last time we had a home league match covered was back in September 2002 when we played Millwall in a match that ended in a 2-2 draw.
But when Sky announced their Football League line up right through to mid-December it included the Burnley v Derby County fixture in October. To accommodate this it has been brought forward from Saturday 23rd October to Friday 22nd with a 7:45 p.m. kick off.
Barry Kilby attacked Sky last season for their unfair allocation of matches that saw the Clarets net only an extra £10,000 for the away game at West Brom whilst some clubs were picking up in excess of £200,000 extra.
Although this is the only Burnley game scheduled it is at least at home and that means an extra £60,000 into the kitty although that will be offset by the reduced attendance because of the move to Friday.
Leeds and Nottingham Forest have come out best so far with three home games each whilst Brighton, Plymouth and Wigan are down at the bottom with just the one away game.
