Clarets off to West Ham for FA Cup tie

Last updated : 30 January 2011 By Tony Scholes

We've previously played them twice in the FA Cup, four years apart in the 1960s, and ended on the losing side on both occasions.

The first of those occasions was the sixth round in 1963/64, despite goals from John Connelly and Ray Pointer, we were beaten 3-2 at the Boleyn Ground and four seasons later we lost a third round tie at home 3-1 after Frank Casper had given us the lead.

This time we'll go there as they battle against the drop from the Premier League and will be looking to put up a better showing than we did last season in the league when we lost 5-3 having been 5-0 down at one time.

The home game against Coventry City is now postponed as we head to West Ham for the tie.

Interestingly we had ball number 9 today, just as we had in the third round. In the fourth round it was ball number 1 and should we get through that's the number we'll have next time.

The full draw is:

West Ham v Burnley
Notts County or Manchester City v Aston Villa
Stoke v Brighton
Birmingham v Sheffield Wednesday
Leyton Orient v Arsenal
Everton or Chelsea v Reading
Manchester United v Crawley
Fulham or Tottenham v Bolton or Wigan
