Clarets not on television and the whistle men

ITV Sport have elected to cover the battle for the second automatic promotion spot and will be showing the West Brom game live with live updates from the Wolves game. All the other games featuring clubs will realistic play off hopes are being shown live on regional terrestrial television.

The North West of the country is covered by Granada TV, the company that part owns ITV Digital and gives us Coronation Street. However this company don't show football on ITV1 but hand it over to their footballing sister company Kevin Keegan's Manchester City TV.

Viewers in this region have been treated to an almost weekly showing of them on KKMCTV this season although it is fair to say that Preston have had more than a fair showing too, when they have played KKMC.

It really is disgraceful the way they cover, or in fact don't cover, teams in the North West but blatantly as far as the Nationwide League is concerned concentrate virtually all of their efforts on KKMC.

The TV Schedule for Sunday is

ITV Sport

West Bromwich Albion v Crystal Palace (plus broadcast crew at Sheffield Wednesday v Wolverhampton Wanderers for live updates).

Anglia

Norwich City v Stockport County

Central

Birmingham City v Sheffield United

London Weekend

Millwall v Grimsby Town

It is believed KKMCTV (under their previous name of MCTV they ignored our 1994 play off final) will be showing a ten hour programme on Sunday featuring KKMC training sessions.

It was bound to happen and one of the game's complete idiots will be involved in the play off battle on Sunday, referee Paul Alcock will be in charge of Norwich City v Stockport County. It can only be assumed that the referee with the inability to run shows Norwich less favours than he did when we played them earlier in the season.

The referees for the play off battle are:

Birmingham City v Sheffield United – Phil Richards
Burnley v Coventry City – Steve Dunn
Millwall v Grimsby Town – Alan Butler
Norwich City v Stockport County – Paul Alcock
