Clarets make Robson offer

It is believed manager Owen Coyle was at Clyde last week when Robson scored the winning goal for Dundee United in the Scottish Cup, and it is said that we have offered £500,000 for the Scottish international.

That is around a quarter of what the Tannadice club want for him and they are hopeful that Celtic will rekindle their interest with the hope of getting closer to £2 million for him, whilst it is thought that both Ipswich and Nottingham Forest are also keen to bring him to England to add to the speculation linking him with Newcastle. Ipswich and Forest are expected to make bids.

Burnley's offer is believed to have add ons to the half million that would take it to a million, but that would be dependent on our progress this season and beyond.

It is thought Celtic's interest waned when they thought they would need to pay over £750,000 for him.
