Clarets live on the magic lantern

Last updated : 12 July 2002 By Tony Scholes

The match, somewhat significantly chosen, is the home game against Millwall on Tuesday
17th September and will be the first Millwall game to be played with no away fans present.

They will have played none of the six home games with no away fans by this time and although they will have played at Portsmouth this is one game the Millwall fans will be allowed to attend. Portsmouth are the only club to have clearly said they will not reciprocate and ban Millwall fans from Fratton Park saying that two wrongs don't make a right.

Figures have now been released that show just how much money the Clarets will be getting from Sky next season, a total that will be paid in instalments the last of which is not until next August.

Burnley will receive, as will all First Division clubs, just £586,625 in five instalments which are as follows:

Jul 2002

£26,200

Aug 2002

£26,200

Oct 2002

£211, 675

Apr 2003

£286,747

Aug 2003

£53,803

The total payment to each 2nd Division club during the same period will be £285,041 and to each 3rd Division club it will be £199,333. The total of £586,625 is the deal that Andrew Watson said he was delighted about, a deal that has upset quite a few First Division chairmen.
