The eagle eyed fans will know he's been here for some time after appearing on the photographs taken on the second day of pre-season training, and he arrives with a lot to prove both to himself and to the fans.
The reaction to his signing has hardly been positive with Burnley a forward down from last season with the departure of Martin Paterson to Huddersfield, and the policy of recent years to bring in young players to develop has hardly been a success with many expecting this to be another that doesn't provide us with a first team player.
However, Noble is here on a one year deal, and Sean Dyche said: "Ryan is a young goalscorer who was searching for a chance at Sunderland and didn't quite get it, but we hope to give him a chance here to further his development into possibly a first team player.
"We had Ryan at Watford, but he was too young then. He's now a little older and wiser and we want him to be hungry to perform and impress and improve himself here. He will get the platform and that is the challenge."
Noble is aged 22 and made five Premier League appearances for Sunderland but all of them were as a substitute. He's had loans at both Derby and Hartlepool without too much success and time will tell whether he becomes another George Porter or another Glen Little, in terms of success.
