The 24-year-old joined Danish club Brøndby IF in the summer of 2007 and has been a regular in the side since. Prior to that he'd spent his entire career with Elfsborg after joining them at the age of 14 from his home town club Annelund.
Holmén is considered to be a good ball winner but also gets box to box and scores his fair share of goals. He's netted eight times for his current club and has also scored twice for Sweden since making his debut in 2006.
