Clarets in talks with Santos

They claim that Santos’ advisors are already in talks with Steve Cotterill as the Burnley manager looks to increase his defensive options.

The giant French born defender has been with the Tractor Boys for just a year after Long Ball Joe nipped in to sign him ahead of Grimsby who he had played for in the previous season.

Prior to that he was at Sheffield United but his time there came to an abrupt end when he started the problems that led to their match against West Brom being abandoned.

He started his English career in 1998 with Tranmere just after his 28th birthday and moved from there to West Brom before signing for Sheffield United. He has played a total of 176 league games in the Football League.

It is, at the moment, just talks and it is somewhat surprising that Ipswich have decided to tell the world. Maybe they are still reeling from losing John McGreal without the manager knowing anything about it.
