The Clarets have sent a home shirt for the auction as worn by Player of the Season Dean West
The club in question are Pelynt Football Club who play in the Bodmin Trophies Duchy League Division Two. So what has it got to do with the Clarets? Read on.

The Pelynt ground is to be built on and they need to raise funds quickly to enable them to lease another ground in time for next season. They have come up with a big event this coming Saturday, a table football competition they are calling the AXA FA Cup Table Football Competition.

The competition will be between representatives of all 124 clubs who played in the 1st Round of this season's FA Cup and beyond. That includes the Clarets. The eventual winners will lift the trophy and the trophy will be the actual AXA FA Cup currently in Arsenal's possession.

Added to that there will be an auction and Pelynt have contacted all the 124 clubs asking if they would provide them with an item for the auction. Burnley Football Club are one of the many clubs to have responded to the request and have sent a 2001/02 shirt autographed by seventeen members of the squad.

Well done to our club for this, not all clubs have responded including a local Premiership club, the response does us great credit.

The event is taking place this Saturday in Lanreath near Looe in Cornwall and it is not expected to attract too many Burnley supporters but if you do happen to be in the area please call in and give them some support.

If you would like to make a bid for the shirt and help boost the Cornwall club then you can do so. Just email Phil Hardaker of the South West Clarets, including your name and telephone number. This will be passed on to the Pelynt club who will contact you.

Again well done Burnley FC for helping a small club in trouble.
