Clarets fined following cup tie

Kyle Lafferty - the incident followed his sending off
We were charged under FA Rule E20(a) on both occasions - failure to ensure our players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion. The first of these charges followed the dismissal of Joey Gudjonsson by controversial referee (and I am being polite calling him controversial) Lee Mason. On that occasion we were fined £10,000 and warned as to our future conduct.

The second charge related to the reaction to Alan Wiley's decision to send off Kyle Lafferty in the cup defeat against the Gunners. As was the case with the Preston incident we admitted guilt.

Whilst accepting we were somewhat out of order with our reaction to Mason's decision, I remain baffled by the charge brought against us following Kyle's sending off and the FA have clearly themselves deemed it to be nothing like as bad as the Preston incident.

Despite already having been fined £10,000 and despite having been warned as to our future conduct, we have today received just a £7,500 fine from the Football Association for the second of the two offences.
