Clarets fans set to spend more than a penny

Next season could see queues at Turf Moor for the new 'Convenience Season Ticket'
News has reached us, and has been confirmed by a Turf Moor source, that as from next season it will cost Clarets fans 10p just to visit the toilet at Turf Moor.

Coin operated turnstiles will be installed at the entrance to all conveniences within the ground but far from 'spending a penny' it will actually cost you 10p to gain admittance.

Burnley bosses have calculated that if every person in a 15,000 crowd visits the toilets at least once whilst at Turf Moor it will raise an extra £1,500 per game. If we have a good season with a couple of decent cup runs with home ties it is hoped that the scheme will bring in around £50,000 over the course of the season.

We understand that new 'Convenience Season Tickets' will be available for £2 which means that the average person, visiting once per match, will be entitled to 3 'free' matches over the course of a 23 game league season although it has not yet been decided if the season ticket will also be valid for cup matches.

It is thought that the season ticket will be particularly attractive to those with weak bladders who could be set to save themselves anything up to 50p a match by purchasing one.

There is no news yet on whether the scheme will be extended to the executive areas of the ground where a charge of £1 has been suggested for use of the gold plated facilities.

Over recent years Burnley Football Club have gone to some extremes with different ways of getting more money from supporters but to us here at Clarets Mad this sounds like money making gone completely mad and this time they are really just taking the p***.
