Clarets confirm Riordan interest

Flood has told the local media: "He is definitely of interest," but he has also said that we should not expect to see any new signings until very much later in the month as manager Owen Coyle looks to strengthen his squad.

"It's exciting. There are people who want to come to Burnley, and we want to get the best players," Flood added. "But Owen doesn't want to make decisions, necessarily, that will keep the newspapers selling.

"He is better making the right decision for the team, and he is being very selective. We've put our best foot forward, and hopefully all the targets will be here in time for pre-season."

The Clarets are back in for pre-season training in just under four weeks - they return on Tuesday 1^st July which is eight days before the first game against Austin Aztex.
