The fee suggested is £400,000 and supposedly we have had an offer turned down by Wolves but to be honest none of this rings true.
Branch's future at Wolves will last just as long as it takes him to find a new club. He has been told by manager Dave Jones that he is not part of the plans and is no longer allowed to train with the first team.
There has been a war of words between the two of them this week that was sparked when Branch spoke to the local Wolverhampton paper.
"I just want to get away. It does my head in and I would be lying to say it doesn't," said the player. "I can't wait to get away which is a horrible thing to say because I love the fans and they took to me.
"But I've got no future here, the gaffer's told me that. This is definitely the lowest point of my career."
Dave Jones reacted to that by saying, "Sometimes players need to do what they are paid for, and that's play football, rather than spouting off. It seems to be a disease in the football world.
"I can't find him a club. I have three phones and none of them are ringing. It doesn't matter where you play, even at reserve level, you have to put on a performance.
"My shoulders are broad. I'm sure he means well but I don't kick the ball. Players need to do their talking with their feet."
I think that just about confirms that Branch has no future at Wolves and he was hoping to impress the scouts in their reserve game - see REPORT - against the Clarets last week, ironically in front of the watching Stan Ternent. Unfortunately his evening ended earlier when he was substituted after picking up an injury.
However I would not expect the Clarets to be offering £400,000 for Branch, or indeed for any player, at the present time.
