Claret takes over from the Unprofessional

Last updated : 19 May 2003 By Tony Scholes

Matt Horn recently left the Lancashire Evening Telegraph for a new life in China although it is somewhat unfair to call him an Unprofessional. This had nothing to do with the quality of his work but because he had previously supported the cause of one Stockport County FC. He wasn’t even a supporter, in fact Matt was really a Preston fan.

But today sees Darren Bentley take over at the newspaper as the Burnley reporter and he becomes the first Claret (yes Daz is without doubt a Burnley fan) in that role since Keith McNee’s death in 1987.

This means that both of the local papers will now see supporters covering the club with Edward Lee and Chris Boden at the Burnley Express. And it is the first time since Keith and Granville Shackleton were tasked with reporting the fortunes of our club.

Clarets Mad would like to send best wishes to Daz.
