Burnley Football Club will be represented at the Olympic Games this year with news coming just two days before the torch makes its way through the town.
New Zealand have confirmed that Cameron Howieson will be in their squad with their quest for an Olympic medal starting on 26th July and he joins a squad that includes former Blackburn Rovers, and now QPR, defender Ryan Nelsen as one of their permitted overage players.
New Zealand have been grouped with Beralus, Egypt and Brazil in Group C and will play their first game at Coventry City's Ricoh Arena against the Belarusians.
This fantastic year continues for Cameron, who came to the attention of many Burnley fans when he scored a brace at Fulham in the FA Youth Cup.
Again Clarets Mad would wish to send congratulations to a player who recently became our youngest ever full international.
