The ball hit Wayne Bridge and dropped for David Nugent who played in a superb ball for Steven Fletcher on the left hand side of the penalty box. Fletcher, instead of going for goal, laid a brilliant cushion header across for Kevin McDonald to come in and score the equaliser.

It was probably the best celebrated goal so far this season as over 2,800 Burnley fans went ballistic in the City of Manchester Stadium.

This goal was my choice for the goal of the month for November and for once I've voted for the winner, indeed not just the winner but an easy winner.

McDonald secured no less than 66.9% of the vote, leaving the other five goals trailing. Chris Eagles' goal at West Ham, our third, came second with 20.1% of the vote and the remaining four goals were left with just over 20% between them.

Those four goals included three from Fletcher (one at City and two at West Ham) and Steven Caldwell's goal against Aston Villa.

McDonald now joins the other monthly winners - Robbie Blake v Manchester United (August), Nugent's second v Sunderland (September) and Blake again v Blackburn (October). All these goals will be included in the Goal of the Season in May.
