Chesterfield rather than Cyprus for Papadopoulos

Having made his debut in November in a friendly international against the Republic of Ireland in Athens Papadopoulos has not been selected and will not pick up a second cap.

This though is no reflection on Papadopoulos and his exclusion has nothing whatsoever to do with his debut performance. He was not considered for inclusion and this is due to the fact that he plays his football outside Greece.

No foreign based players have been included in the squad because the date of the game is not on the official list of dates set aside by FIFA for national team games.

This means the entire squad is made up of Greek based players with the top two clubs Olympiakos and Panathinaikos providing thirteen of the squad.

So for Dimitri it is will be another reserve game and a trip to the wonderful world of the Recreation Ground, Saltergate, Chesterfield where we will take on Sheffield United in an Avon Insurance Premier League game.
